EOS-WEBSTER (a WEB based System for Terrestrial Ecosystem Research) is a digital library of Earth Science data serving the needs of both the Earth System Science community and the general public. EOS-WEBSTER was developed through a $3.5 million dollar grant from NASA and is now supported by the University of New Hampshire's Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space. Our data holdings can be searched spatially, temporally, or by keyword, free text, or collection name. We have distributed over 150,000 data products to our users world-wide since 1999.

See their Landsat Clic 'N Pic for finding free Landsat images for much of the United States.

Staff

Annette Schloss is the Project Manager for EOS-WEBSTER. Dr. Schloss has been involved with EOS-WEBSTER since it’s inception. She has worked on terrestrial and hydrologic modeling projects, and is interested in remote sensing of freshwater resources.  She received her doctorate from UNH in Zoology with a focus on the ecology of streams. She has collaborated on several education and outreach projects to get the best contemporary Earth science data into use by educators and the general public.

Bill Armstrong, Senior Software Engineer, works for Research Computing Center (RCC) at UNH, and is the guy behind the scenes of the MVH web site.  He's responsible for server administration, web server configuration, software development, and database administration. As part of the mission of UNH, Bill helps undergraduate and graduate students gain new skills in database design and administration and web-based projects.

Rita Freuder, Information Technologist, is the main support member of the EOS-WEBSTER for providing data to all MVH members for constructing DELEs (Data Enhanced Learning Experiences). Rita has experience in education outreach to K-12 teachers, in Earth system science activities using satellite images, modeled data and field data. She has been the MVH liaison to the Education Committee of the Earth Science Information Partners Federation (ESIP), and to the Digital Library for Earth Systems Education (DLESE), both national organizations.

Denise Blaha, User Support Coordinator, is the person behind the email and toll-free telephone line. She is involved in a number of education initiatives at UNH, both in terrestrial and marine sciences. Prior to joining EOS-WEBSTER in 1999, she was a researcher for 10 years with the Global Atmospheric Chemistry group at UNH studying anthropogenic sources of atmospheric methane.
