Making Time Lapse Movies from Still Images

After making or collecting your images, it is quite simple to make the movie. The simplest is to purchase the professional version of Apple's QuickTime (runs on PCs and Macs) for $30. The software allows you to make a movie very quickly while using a number of options, such as selecting how many frames per second should be shown to the format of the movie (mov, mpeg, etc.).

Using QuickTime Pro to Make Time Lapse Movies
1) Place images into one folder. Do not include any other files or pictures in this folder. If not done by the camera, name the images sequentially in the order you want them viewed.

2) In the File Menu, select "Open Image Sequence"

3) As directed, open the folder with the images and select the first image.

4) Using the pop-up window, select the number of frames per second (fps). Experiment with different fps settings to see what works best for your audience.

5) Save movie as a self-contained movie (allows easy sharing of movies).
